In which Rat recognizes dangers
At the first glimpse, this might look like a typical «tragedy of the commons» situation, in which an individual anonymous rat has incentives to gnaw as much and loud as he can, while gnawing is still possible. There are substantial differences however – can you pinpoint them?
Rat promises to be in a somewhat lighter mood tomorrow. ;)
I think Rat has the right of it. The true threat to the baseboard/commons has usually been overwhelming force, from a powerful entity that wants it all. Semi-anarchic management prior to, e.g. enclosure, always had its issues, most of which were resolved by the majority of "stakeholders"; not utopia, not Hobbesian either.
