In which Rat turns the story upside down

Crow: — I seem to remember this story differently.
Crow: — According to the book, I was supposed to sit on the tree and have cheese.
Rat: — Well, I’ve tried living by the book, but they still threw the book at me.
Climbing higher wins one only an illusory reprieve, however.
The higher monkey climb coconut tree, the more he expose heself!

The other day, this teller did see a rare sighting of a bird of prey.
In tree, reluctant to move in unpleasant weather.
The fellow flew, and there was sight of catch in talons.
To earth went bird.
To flight again to hedge wall, out of sight.
