The Treasury Department can issue daylight saving bonds. The FED will buy them and loan them to Goldman, who will package them as daylight security derivatives then announce an IPO and sell them back to retail investors. After the big launch, the Wall Street Journal will publish an article stating that it still gets dark at 5pm est in November. The securities go worthless and Investors go bankrupt. The standard 60-second minute will now take 75 seconds to complete and workers need to put in 9 hours instead of 8 hours for the same pay. Labor hours are excluded from the core inflation numbers and seasonally adjusted, so it really doesn’t affect the economy. Blame it on Iran
With your fertile imagination, we could install you in the office of "The People's Time" and institute an "Endless Summers" policy where each workday is considered vacation time. I'm sure you would do well.
One of the stupidest things people have ever done. Try to 'save' daylight. If you have 8 hours of light, what does it matter if it light from 9 to 5 or from 8 to 4? And what about people up North, where the day is only 5 hours, and in the polar circle, where there is no daylight at all? I could never understand how people thought it was better to change. Someone must make money off of it, otherwise it would be long gone. Let us hope Trump can do one good thing and finish this nonsense. I see Dr. Ferdinand just posted an article about Edison, see if he has a solution.
I knew it would be some kind of nerd. Thanks. PS when I read some comments, that children in NYC would have to go to school in the dark - we as kids in Belgium went by foot to school in the dark, and returned at 4 in the almost-dark. No one ever got hurt. That is a total Nonargument.
I thought Trump wanted daylight saving gone, not standard time.
These fools will be whining the loudest when their little darlings will be standing in the pitch dark waiting for their school buses in December and January.
I have no beef with not changing clocks every 6 months…but it should remain on standard time, not Daylight-saving.
If there is one thing about our congress you can count on, it would be to screw up the most simple basic thing.
We can just print more of it, we'll call it Quantumary Easing... if only I can find my flux capacitor.

I’ve probably said it before, but blame bugmen.
DST was invented by a literal entomologist who wanted more time to collect his bugs.

There were actual reasons for it once people's lives became regulated by clocks.
On a certain level, yes, the idea is rather absurd.
I feel the warmth of humour .

Is DST a form of cannibalism?
