Humans
In which Rat's cousin is disappointed
Good time of day, humans!
Cousin has got his paws on the internet, and he’s not happy with what he sees.
Things that gather momentum on the internet are often those looking good and smart on the surface but terribly wrong in detail1. Smart people are less likely to argue with them — they’ll either let it slide, deeming it not worth the effort, or walk away in silence. Hence, if you ever feel like you’re surrounded by idiots — there might be devil in the details of what you just said or wrote.

recursion: this here thing is unlikely to be an exception :)

Smart people know you can’t fix stupid, so there’s no point in trying.
Opportunity cost plays a role, too. The elusive smart people have to budget and allocate time. It's a zero sum game, alas.
