If you were quick enough, you’d at least get your money back, wouldn’t you?

Quick fact check notes:

• for most of the history, indulgences were not understood as guaranteeing automatic remission of eternal punishment; they were marketed a «safe and effective» only in late 15th and early 16th century;

• the worst period of abuse that sparked Protestant Reformation lasted just a few decades. In 1567 sale of indulgences was banned – but it was already too late.
