how can we be sure? some ingredients at very low percentage do not have to be mentioned on the label. And how trustworthy is the label? 60 years ago mom worked in a stocking factory in Belgium. The label said : made in England.
When I was a kid anything made in Japan was cheap junk. Japan products were required to be labeled as to their origin, “Made in Japan”. So they incorporated the city of Usa, Japan and labeled their products “Made in USA”.
Currently I am in a place where I have extremely limited time and internet connectivity. Most of my emails and Substack subscriptions are skipped over. I never skip “Rat.” Thanks for always bringing a smile to my face.
So glad you’re calling attention to palm oil, Tender Rat! You must surely know that cutting down entire tropical forests for palm oil is so devastating for orangutans 🦧 and particularly sad because so many babies become orphans at a young age where they don’t even have as much hair on their heads as you have silky whiskers, Rat … 🐀
How enlightened you are, Rat. I didn’t know either of those facts. All the more reason to find something more “natural”! Still, those YouTube videos of baby orangutan orphanages are worth a look-see…
When we can tell the difference between "made from" and "made of" then we're on to something.

Wondering if new/improved is just a way to sell shitification, no?
Sounds about right.

My two biggest issues with palm oil are:
that it doesn’t taste of anything, and
neither of our species have sufficiently long history of consuming it to be safe;
I would rather avoid it even if it harmed no one in Southeast Asia.

Rat is no dummy!!!
Gross!
Well, maybe the insect fragments, but anything to do with our sweet Rat is perfection, especially those heart-melting whiskers!
Possibly rat hairs and insect fragments...
