You can afford one small thing, then another… and another… until one day you suddenly can’t afford the sum of them anymore.
Rat discovered the reason why most governments and unfortunately, most Americans, are so deeply indepted! Instead of waiting till there is enough money, to buy what they need (or want) they buy on credit... governments spend millions and trillions without having it... and many people do the same and end up having debts they cannot repay. If you limit the buying and save some money there will be some in case of dire need! That is how I grew up - and the opposite of what most have grown up with!
