Good time of day, humans!
Growing tired of the economy and politics, we decided to make use of the last few warm days in these parts.
On a pedantic note, the mistake Rat is making here is known as «the fallacy of exclusive premises» — attempting to arrive at a conclusion from two negatives.
I used to have a vague memory of our logic prof referring to it as «Rebecca fallacy» — from a supposed Medieval mnemonic for E-E-A (invalid) syllogism type; but now I’m unable to find any evidence of there ever being any mnemonics for invalid syllogism types (of which there are great many). Am I making stuff up?
Rat and his cousin do a lot of thinking. Maybe they should take up transcendental meditation for a while. Refresh their connectedness with the universe and everything. Then Rat might realise that doing nothing is actually action if it is applied in the right moment.
I think thought processes can always use a little fresh air.
