Olympics
In which Rat expects it to be different this time
Good time of Friday, humans!
Transcript:
Human: — No one really knows how much the next Olympic Games will cost.
Human: — Perhaps the only thing we can be sure about is that a lot of money will be squandered as usual.
Rat: — Why «as usual»? It will be squandered faster, higher and stronger!
Skeptics say there’s no way 2004 Athens games could cause 2010 Greek financial crisis because the scale of the latter was much too bigger. Moi, I believe the effect was most likely indirect — when governments are spending a lot on «infrastructure», it soon becomes nigh impossible for the private sector to build anything at a reasonable cost.
Anyway, there’s no doubt there was a lot of waste.

Why do I not find reality so amusing? :(
Hunger Games reminded me of the Olympics
