Rat: — Yes, the one where you pay a certain percentage of what someone else thinks your house is worth.
To make things worse, it’s not even your own opinion.
Property tax might seem «the least bad of taxes» under stable economic conditions; it’s in the times of change when it becomes obvious it’s based on speculative opinion.
The power to tax is the preferred tool for punishing behavior deemed undesirable based merely on the opinion of a powermad bureaucrat.
