Outbreak
In which Rat denies involvement
Good time of day, humans!
Transcript:
Human: — Rat, they say your brethren might have something to do with the new virus outbreak.
Rat: — Nonsense! We do not possess the technology necessary to spread it.
Rat: — More importantly, we also own no newspapers or TV stations.
The reason hantavirus is fairly rare is it takes contact with aerosolized rodent droppings to spread; and most rats simply don’t have the means to dry their product and make it airborne.
For now, the most plausible theory of the cruise ship outbreak seems to be one tying it to birdwatching at a landfill site (seriously, they did that).

"most rats simply don’t have the means to dry their product and make it airborne."
Translation; rats don't operate black-site labs generating mutant forms of pathogens, only humans are capable of such savagery.
We all know that this can only lead to a world wide Black Plague outbreak! It’s always the rats! Waiting for the dancing nurses in plague doctor suits and bird masks
