For me, paying too much attention can easily slip into a morbid condition, with real psychic damage a strong possibility.

The people demanded free stuff, meaning free to them and they ended up paying themselves… and that of course is the objection.
Hence the funding became Fiat magic 🪄 but the ensuing inflation the real tax.
In the US, the Federally mandated Socialist Security entitlement spending is partial remittance for money stolen over the lifetime of every citizen. This is non-negotiable. I would like at least part of it back, thank you.
