Price Controls
In which Rat contemplates history
Good time of day, humans!
As a general rule, the spottier the historical record of some period is, the safer it is to assume it was worse than we know.
Fortunately, humans have never messed up badly enough to run out of clay, so we know a thing or two about attempts of price regulation in ancient Mesopotamia. Here’s an interesting glimpse into the history of price controls:
Forty Centuries of Failure: Price Controls, Debasement and Tyranny

Price controls are their answer to their own, ongoing, series of supply shocks and their own, ongoing, deficit spending that's directly targeted at destroying value. Not to mention the constant oligarch welfare spending, or busting out the social democratic welfare state with unrestricted immigration.
What's a morning without Mr. Rat and friends? Who knew that so many of us would anticipate waking to coffee and an instant editorial with more insight than all the mockingbird media?! And for me, living in the top-left coast in the US, I get up before the bugs.
Good morning everyone! (´ ⌣ `ʃƪ)♡
