Good time of Friday, humans!

Rat: — Solipsists think the world is just an illusion and only exists in one’s mind.
Cousin: — That’s quite an extreme view. I’m surprised the government hasn’t yet tried to ban it.
Rat: — Well… why would one who thinks the government is not real care about a ban?
While there probably were philosophers who entertained consistent solipsism, we know nothing about them, because they necessarily must have come to a conclusion that writing books for an illusion is pointless. As for those who did write books, solipsism is just a lemma in a bigger philosophical (Descartes) or theological (Berkeley) argument, and it’s stated just to be refuted afterwards.
CWCID: inspired by Government [is not real] by Neil & Marissa Kohney.
Moi, I find «government is not real» a good starting point if we set about to find out what it actually is.
Government is real in the same way Velveeta is real cheese.
