Is there money in it?

Then they’ll keep billing.

"...those mind control conspiracy theories… most of the stuff being discussed isn’t even physically possible."

Oh no, looks like MK Ultra got to Rat! We're all on a list now.

If some varieties of mind control did not work you would not be seeing advertising pop ups nor large advertising agencies making serious money.

Also, recent searches for frequency patterns involving key words at key times (and largely originating from "persistent threat" level actors via algorithm generated/operated accounts) in social media posts/comments would be returning very different data.

Oh, SQUIRREL!

I'm trying to think of any conspiracy in which massive fraud and the subsequent attempted coverup did not play a major role.

Same applies to weather control. I keep seeing patents for the stuff, but still no hard evidence the stuff actually works. Rather like my electromagnetic levitation device, come to think of it.

Well, we did hear that Elon is collecting misused taxpayers money, aiming for $500 billion which just so happens to be earmarked for Project Stargate.... what is that, Rat? Well, stick with me here, it is a very old project from the 70s exploiting remote viewers! The modern twist on it is particularly interesting! They plan to use AI to peek into our heads! What would be their next trick, do you suppose? Maybe, pre-crime like The Minority Report? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_Project

That’s exactly the «won’t keep them from trying» part Rat is talking about.

There’s also a sea of difference between controlling something and messing with something; I guess I’ll need to expand on that some day.

Monitoring our thoughts would necessitate a helluva data base - oh, isn't that what they are planning to build? Meanwhile the Chinese have done the job with servers that fit in your palm, so I hear!

Is all this fear porn, do you suppose?

There’s an absolutely hilarious story about this written by Polish writer Stanisław Lem back in 1972: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professor_A._Do%C5%84da

I’ve heard an English translation exists but so far haven’t been able to locate it, going to check my favorite pirate libraries once again…
