Cousin: — Ef, I believe.
Rat: — Perfect. Why are some humans failing this test?

Cousin, you should reject the evidence of your eyes and ears, obeying the Party® is the most essential command! Stop talking about whatever it is that doesn't exist.
Rat, if you think about it, the problem is not with eyesight, but with the processing of articulate language codified using conventional symbols and syntaxis, therefore, your joke is wrong (I can't believe I'm writing something as stupid as this.)
In regards to this almost ineffable topic, there is nothing mysterious that deserves an extra effort in research or understanding about the case. But why people do not get it? Because they are playing the game. The people who get it are not willing to play the game. That's all.
In my stealth sociological research on games that people play, I have found that some people do not want to play any game, some will play some games but not others, and some people want to play all games. I call each group, respectively, the grouchos, the suckers and the freemasons. Of these three, the first and last are the ones with the happiest people, and the suckers complain the most, even when they are winning.
