I like PKD's aphorism on this, «Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.» The last panel suggests that Rat does too.

Whenever I run into someone who is blathering about physically murdering other humans over their differences with IDEAS they believe in (socialism vs. neoliberal capitalism *often disguised as Koch flavored pseudo libertarianism!*, tritheism vs. monotheism & etc.), I try to bring up the P. K. Dick litmus test for reality. Mostly they ignore the implications... Sometimes they also add me to their "little list for after the revolution"?! And so it goes.
