Libertarian in the prevailing American sense of the word rarely has anything to do with tightly restrained governance, especially coming from oligarchs like Zucky. He, his fellow oligarchs, their wannabes, and fanbois have no principled objection to massive overreach, provided it doesn't affect them personally.
We all change our viewpoint over time as we experience new conditions and new information becomes available. It’s impossible to know what another has experienced and how they were affected. I can’t know the intentions of Zuckerberg or Musk, but I also believe that time will tell. So, let’s watch, trust and VERIFY.
"Libertarianism" as it presently exists in USA is totally synthetic and was very deliberately marketed to politically ignorant naifes by billionaire endowed foundations.
There still ARE a few older people who self identified as libertarians from way back before the Koch & related foundations decided that name would grant them a useful attack surface. They can be identified by the fact that they don't agree with ANYONE else about what libertarianism even IS, nor do they accept the claims of anyone else who professes to be a "real libertarian". So fuck you all, I'm the only libertarian in this room.
As Mad Mark Ziosuckerberg deleted my account, complete with thousands of irretrievable posts and photos and over 12,000 followers, I have zero concerns about who loves or hates him.
He is a filthy rich parasite on humanity who sucks up to the Nobs and freezes in terror when questioned in the soap opera US inquiries. He is a chameleon type, changing his colours to suit the Nob agenda and protect his stash. A despicable low life who sold his soul for a buck.
I don't care about Zuckerberg as Zuckerberg. As another commenter pointed out, the fact that there are high-profile defections indicates something is changing.
I believe Zuck. Of all the mega-money mega-power people, he seems like one of the least objectionable. I’m willing to accept him as sincere, even a force for good, unless proven otherwise
Zuck is doing self preservation
The defections are what’s important
Not ideological purity 🤣
Or “sincerity” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Rat
All the REAL punks are DEAD now, all those wandering around claiming to be hippies are poseurs.
If I had the courage of my convictions, I'd be dead by now- What's your excuse?

The other tech bros weren't inviting him to go bunker shopping with them or so something?
Of course, there’s always this reaction: Who cares?

I believe that may be wishful thinking. I don’t see it making any real difference.

Now, I'm not an expert herpetologist... upright walking anthropomorphic bipedal creatures are simply easier for comic purposes. :)
I drew a Snek once: https://ratsays.substack.com/p/pushback
But they’re pretty limited in postures and gestures — they cannot point fingers, shrug shoulders etc.
Snakes are wonderful creatures.
