Safetyism assumes a mix of negligence, stupidity, recklessness, and crackpot determination that really only shows up near adolescence. There's a cull at that point. My cohort managed some bizarre ends. There was no way to thwart them. The one spark of ingenuity they had was finding the means to their own demise.
In fairness, some people do manage to make a full career of it, mostly by working through stupider proxies.
